At 24 Hour Title, we are able to accept cash to close by certified check if the cash to close is LOWER than $10,000. If the cash to close is higher than $10,000, then we require a wire transfer. This is due to the vast amount of fraud happening with certified checks right now. Banks are beginning to treat certified checks the same as regular checks and they are placing multi-day holds on them. If the bank places a multi-day hold on a certified check for cash to close, then we are unable to record the deed and complete the closing. This is why we require that all cash to close in excess of $10,000 must be made via wire transfer.
We will ONLY send our wire instructions to you by the CERTIFID system. CERTIFID is a third-party fraud prevention software that will verify the sender and recipient’s identity based on AI, biometrics, and geo-tracking software.
We send our wire instructions to the sender via CERTIFID because this system ensures the sender’s wire transfers against fraud. You may check about CERTIFID by clicking this link: https://certifid.com/
24 Hour Title will send the CERTIFID information to the buyer (or party wiring the money) 1-2 days prior to scheduled closing.
Due to security reasons, we cannot send this information to Realtors or Wholesalers directly. Please understand that 24 Hour Title will NEVER send wire instructions to you through any other systems other than CERTIFID, including email systems. If you receive our wire instructions any other way, please notify us immediately.
